WESTERN STORY MAGAZINE, under various titles, was one of the longest-running Western pulps. It actually began as a dime novel, "New Buffalo Bill Weekly," but by mid-1919 had changed title, and by early 1920 was in standard pulp format. It was published weekly until early 1944, and about that time changed to a digest size. The digest version survived into the early 1950's.
